Default Download host problems - 02-27-2011, 05:12 AM

Lately I've been having problems downloading from both Megaupload and Fileserve.

On megaupload I have 3 problems:
1) the files first time round dont download (they freeze at about 1800-2500kb done)
2) the speed starts off normally but slows down to a crawl (from 1.2mb/s to 50kb/s)
3) since about 8 hours ago now, downloads start of at about 128kb/s instead of normal 1.2mb/s (or 248kb/s when my ISP caps my speed) and still crawling

On fileserve my problem is that I simply cant download any files from it any more, it always gives me the error 'Your IP has failed the captcha too many times. Please retry later.', but the problem is that I haven't even been shown the captcha, I just click on the download button and instead of the captcha appearing the page reloads and it shows me that message

I was wondering maybe some other people might be having these problems, so I posted here for help and info.

Do you live in the UK? Who's your Internet provider?

With Megaupload, does the same problem occur with different browsers or JDownloader?

For Fileserve, if you do live in the UK, there's something called an [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] that's been put up which essentially blocks "harmful" websites. Fileserve has been put on the blacklist so you can't download from there any more.

If you don't live in the UK, then it's probably something to do with your ISP.

right now i only use chrome, i was also thinking of trying it on other browsers and JD, but the speed has gone back to norm (well, its averaging 465kb/s - 780kb/s on both Chrome 10 and IE 9)

Yeah, the IWF thing sucks. What makes it worse is that pretty much everyone is moving on to Fileserve what with Hotfile going down with legal issues like Rapidshare did.

There's some workarounds for a few other sites like Filesonic [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Shame there isn't one for Fileserve.

I had problems with downloading from MU about 2 days ago. Slow speed even with premium. But now, it's back to normal.

My ISP cap mkv, and web streams, so I normally rename the files in my MU account if I want to download them real fast.

If the fileserve re-captcha shows that sign, just click on the reload next captcha it works for me... As for the megaupload one are you using Jdownloader? A download manager like JD might help u

Megaupload is always working like a charm, getting 1-2mb/s no exceptions.
And when the file is downloaded you can start the next download without waiting times.
You might just read the stickies before u post...

If a problem occurs with a file hosting site like MU, and we obeyed that rule 100% without question, it would really be bothersome then if no one knows what's going on when links aren't working and episodes aren't appearing, etc.
Im not saying you shouldn't follow that rule, just saying that if something is wrong, this is the only place to get help or advice
