Are you building your own or buying prebuilt? As long as you have a decent dual or quad core processor, you'll be fine in that department. What you need to worry about is the video card if you're planning to play games. AMD and nVidia both offer very good cards at decent prices. The HD 6850 and the GTX 460 are great mid-range cards that will play anything on high settings.
I usually use this guide to help me pick parts to use and for general reference on what's good. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

Well now i'm really glad that so many ppl are helping.
I'm building my computer from 0(zero) or scratch u might say ,maybe save the dvd rw and computer case ,and i intent to build it myself(i know how to assemble every piece and install it and how to set my own windows or linux ;about oc(overclock i think u mean) i don't think ,at least not in near future ,not that good in that department. I already said the i plan to use it for games and watching anime and some serials tv that are not yet on my country(by the way i live in Romania). That is why i'm asking you guys, because between college , girlfriend watching anime and trying to make my own money there is little time left me ,and that i'm spending with my mates,(this was a big line) so i'm no longer up to date with pc or hardware or ... By the way i'm really sorry if my english is not that good, you see i didn't had lots of practice (the "luck" of living in a small town)...ok ok you don't need to know all that . I need a new computer .Period.For games. Now i need advices so please help me if u can. Almost forgot my money for my computer: maybe 625 euro(that would be like 850 $). |

With you budget, I suggest:
i5-2400 $210 - 2300 is 10 bucks less for a bit less speed, 2500 is 30 more for not much more. Asus P8H67-M $135 - Asrock is cheaper, but Asus is much more reliable. 4GB DDR3 1333 $60 - Most brands come with lifetime warranty, but Kingston is the most reputable in the value field. 1TB Samsung F3 $80 - Samsung F3 is the best HDD in the field (speed, heat, noise). Because their so popular, they have been marked up a bit, but still cheaper than WD Black, and you won't regret it when it comes to performance. GTX560 Ti $300 - They just came out, price will drop, but having a powerful video card is always the best option, otherwise, go GTX460, cheaper by $130 if you opt for the 768MB, and will happily handle any game at Med-High settings. CoolerMaster 700w Extreme Power Plus - $100 - I don't know what old psu you had, but if it's something like a genric 500w, your going to need a new one. CoolerMaster is the best bang for buck brand out there. Corsair is better quality (for the higher end models anyway) but you pay the premium for it, with the low end models, it's not worth it. Just so you know, if you do plan on OC, you'll spend about 200 more, but the performance potential will be much better [i7-2500k will OC from 3.3 to 4.5 easily (25%+)] and 6950 can be flashed to 6970 and OCed (also another 25%+)] The fun of an enthusiast lies in OCing. |

maybe change the Asus P8H67-M to an ATX form factor; ASUS P8P67 LE ($179.00) or Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3R ($185.00). also if your going to pick GTX 460 go with 1GB, more memory is always better in terms of playing games or videos in higher resolution.

Nah, no point. There's no real features upgrade from M to LE. More over, mATX is a good thing if incase he wishes to build a HTPC out of these comp in the future. But again, it's up to him. As for the GTX460 1GB, look his paying the premium for something that isn't really necessary. 768MB can be had for 150, 1GB SE 180 and 1GB 210. 60 bucks difference or 40% extra for essentially 10% increase in fps. If you really want the extra memory, get the SE, otherwise don't bother. Especially since, considering the performance of the card, whatever games you can't play on the 768MB your not going to be able to play on the 1GB, the difference in performance just isn't there.
