if its just Rmvb files thats because they're not supported by CCCP. If you want to play those then you'll need real, or real alt.

not sure about the error but my guess is that cccp doesn't have the codec needed to play the file. I know for sure that cccp doesn't have realmedia codec so if you want to play realmedia file you'll need to install something like realmedia player or real alternative (it's free.. just google it).

Mkv. Its with all the mkv files on the site since i dled Hyakka Ryouran samurai, Tegami Bachi, Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge, Fortune Arterial, Youkai Otome Zakuro etc.

Errors also pop up for the avi files with MM and Ore Imou as well as the Senjou Valkyria small skits.

Aaannnd au contraire, the CCCP codec and the MPC Home Cinema worked the RMVBs that i had without a hitch T.T

i dled the codec from the FAQ links, so im baffled as to why everything that is supposed to work isnt and why whats not supposed to work is...

I would suggest you:

1. Uninstall CCCP
2. clean your registry several times until no errors are left
3. Install CCCP beta from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

edit: make sure you have no other codec packs installed

I don't take the CCCP approach, so I can't comment much about CCCP. But, if you were having similar problems with .mkv as well as .avi, it's very likely that the codecs wasn't installed properly.

I would suggest that you download "The KMPlayer" and "VideoLAN" as well. Both media players can be configured to use internal (build-in) codecs as well as external codecs (from CCCP codecs). You can still install CCCP afterward, if you so choose.

So if it plays on "The KMPlayer" but not MPC, that means you are missing certain codecs on your system. Either install the codec manually (that's the path I took) or re-install the CCCP codec pack.

I suggest installing CoreAVC 2.0, uninstalling CCCP.
Install CCCP Beta.
CCCP Settings -> check CoreAVC (under Alternative H.264 Decoders)
Next > -> check “VSFilter Subpicture Pre-Buffering”

Will make you able to play anything.
