Default MPC vs WMP - 12-19-2010, 11:02 AM

hey guys, i started to watch shinrei tantei yakumo and when i got to ep 3 subbed by AnimeOne, the quality got worse even though the file size is much large than the first two eps (subbed by nordkohl).
All the black outlines look jaggy with MPC, but when I opened the file with WMP, the show looked much, much better than in MPC.
Note that this only occurs with AnimeOne's episodes 3 and up, but not with nordkohl's ep 1 and 2.

does anyone know how to fix this? if u need some pictures to see what i mean then please tell me!

depends on the quality of the video and the player's capabilities. For example, VLC wont play my Blueray quality downloads but MPC will or WMP. Plus you have to make sure your codecs are downloaded correctly sometimes to the player.

Try changing some things in the options about video output, sometimes solves the problems.

I'd say its your settings TC. The codecs and setup you used along with what you chose to install initially.

MPC is far more reliable and plays in much better quality than WMP.
That's my experience after a decade of testing both.

Considering the difference is the uploader. I'd say that opne used a proper codec when converting the file. And the other used one thats mainly tailored to the windows media player conversion formats.
So it might be you in part, but most likely its the uploaders fault in this case.
Just get your file from a different source

@ the person who had problems with blu ray for VLC? do you know the type of file it was? codec it relies on?

Yeah, I've noticed this too. MPC is more reliable, but WMP has AA which makes lines and pictures that bit better. I also have a remote that is WMP friendly and MPC not.

high Def Mp4 for shows like Naruto Shipuuden done by Taka is better looking in Cyberlink Power Dvd than in MPC or WMP!!

but yes MPC is MORE reliable since Cyberlink Power DVD cant play much other than the AVIs and MP4 after the CCCP codecs...
