So tehparadox is backup and I went to check if they have a reason for them being down and this is what I read...
"If you guys haven't done any detective work via Google, then here's the breakdown of what happened. Our host and their infrastructure was attacked, causing majority of the sites hosted with them to go down. They initially claimed it was an ex-employee, however a few days later they released a statement saying that they don't know exactly who, and that they were cooperating with the FBI to investigate. Because of the quantity of sites affected, everything became total chaos. Communication with them was pretty much nil, as I'm assuming other site owners are flooding them with emails about their own sites. Luckily their backup servers were unaffected, allowing us hope to regain our files and going online again. They started the restore process, but I guess the workload was just too much and progress was too slow given the amount of customers they had. They then evaluated that it would be in both party's interest that we migrate to a different company with more manpower and resources. Which is what we did. Had to wait a few more days for our new servers to be built. Then a day or two more for them to retrieve our backup files and begin restoring. Bad news: The backups they used was dated Oct. 3rd, 2010. Which was more than a week before the attack took place. This means any posts you've made after the 3rd are gone." Here's a link: http://tehparadox.com/forum/f10/back...acked-1375000/ I'm assuming that attack affected AT though I'm not sure since I don't know who hosts AT. This would explain why some people have been reporting messed up posts and such. Again I could be wrong on some things so don't go getting all technical and shit... |
