First of all, what do you mean by a "reputation system?" you should clarify what you mean and how it works before you make a suggestion.

Secondly, we have already removed the post count from displaying in the forums, due to people spamming too much to get their post count up because they "want the next rank". What a reputation system would do is the same as this except twice as bad, and instead of people giving each other honest rep as you assume would happen, it would result in the trolls rating everyone down for no good reason and other users desperate to get their rep higher teaming up and repping each other up for no reason.
