My opinion has always been that whenever you begin categorizing data content, you are dealing with content management. This doesn't mean that CMS is necessary, since many are bloated, so I agree with you there. I've personally used WordPress, and I can't disagree about WordPress, nor about the WP to vB bridge; although it seems to me that it wouldn't be difficult to manually code for integration. Time consuming probably, but not too difficult for someone familiar with both WP and vB, as well as fluent in PHP and MySQL. I'm not.
What I meant was that I couldn't think of a way to enhance the main site without someone having to do more work. If you use "tags", someone usually has to add the tags to the entry. If you add genres, someone has to decide or research what is most appropriate, and then assign them. In either case, it would be easier for the uploader to assign the information for a new series, but to me it didn't seem fair to the uploader. I just couldn't think of a way to assign genres by automating code. It's great if the admin and uploaders want to go the extra step for us, but we should never expect it of them; in my opinion. So, I was just trying to think of a way that wouldn't require much of their time, but I failed.
