I don't know if anything like this is already planned (or already implemented and I just haven't found this function yet) but would it be possible to have some kind of notification system, a queue so to say, for new files/releases of a certain show one is following? Think of it like the queue some of us might know from Hulu or similar sides.
I know that people here already discussed rss feeds and those would serve a similar purpose, but I believe a build in queue would be the most elegant solution.
erm alternatively u could just look at the front, other than that there's a browser notification for when at puts new things up on the site not specific to shows people follow though. i mean i was considering making a program to do the same thing so say when im in game or my browsers not open it notifies me AT has been updated however it just seems easier to open my browser and check the website....

Sure, it's always possible to check for updates by hand, but I think an anime specific notification system, like a queue where a user can subscribe to certain shows, would be possible to implement and really convenient, especially if you watch more then one or two shows per season. It's no must have by any means but I thought I wouldn't hurt to address it here.
Well it would make more things easier (and I like things that makes life easier). Espesially when there are some problem with front page like last weekend (only five anime can show up on the front page and I miss quite a few ep i follow 22 anime this season btw well I'm lucky the link hasn't died yet). Btw if you have some way for the web to get this implied (like the program or the php or something) please put it up so the mod/admin here can consider it a bit more.

If the anime updates came in a feed (such as the RSS feeds that news websites use) then it would be easy to extract them and filter by anime. That would require implementation on animetake's side, but I don't think it would be too difficult.
Edit: I guess they have RSS feeds and a program to extract them. I'd go with that, it may not filter by anime but its pretty close to what you want.
OT: I think i'm gonna facepalm this one aswell...
Btw there is a firefox add-on aswell, so ever saw that one? Go to last page you find the link for it.
And, i've asked for something like this aswell before but, it's actually not quite usefull as
anime airs on the same time (if the fansubbers aren't being slow if you wait for that) So there is no much need for it.
It's not exactly what you want, but just use this site's [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). Most, if not all, modern browsers support it and it's easier than manually refreshing/looking at the front page of this site.
If you then use a RSS program rather than browser, the majority of them are able to filter out the shows you follow.
There's also calendar type sites such as:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (if you want to filter, make an account and pick the shows you follow) [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - not a site, but a program that has an [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] as one of it's features.
However these only show the broadcast time which usually don't mean when the subs are going to come out, unless the show is being simulcasted, i.e. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - who also have their own countdown calendar a little ways down the front page on the right.
Naga was actually making a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], which is essentially the same as the ones linked above, but it looks like it's not being worked on any more.
The queue system you're thinking of would require prior knowledge of when subs are going to be released, which most people won't know, probably not even the subbers themselves.
Currently your best bet is RSS + filters or as others have mentioned, the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (if filtering gets added).
Thanks, I guess I'll resort to the RSS + filters solution then.
And with the queue system I wasn't thinking along the lines of a set schedule - I know this is impossible due to the different sub groups - but more like whenever a new entry to a show is added to AnimeTake it's also notified to the user who added said show to a subscription list with a link to to the specific new release entry.
But like I said, I just wanted to put this suggestion out there and see how other users and the people responsible think about this - it's not that I can't manage my schedule otherwise. But nevertheless I think it would be really nifty if we had an option like this.
