Auto-cancelling visited episodes on main page -

Hey guys, I just want to share a little something I see in the manga sites e.g mangatrader that I find interesting to place in AT.
I find the system of cancelling the links or download that the members have already visited or downloaded is a good system to have here. It helps to us(the members) to keep track on the links or downloads that we already downloaded his way, we don't have to accidentally re-download them again wasting our computer space.
If you don't get what I mean just look at the image below.
Those links that I cancelled out means that I've already accessed them already and those that isn't cancelled out means I didn't accessed them.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
its actually very easy to implement but the only downside to this is HOW to do it.
1. cookies
2. server-side
using method 1 is the best way I think, but alot of people will have their browsers most likely set to not allow cookies etc for security reasons. on the other hand method 2 is more effective cause all visited links can be stored in a cache folder/file/db, but this means storing a lot of data if the site is getting alot of visitors every few minutes.
but, even still, I vote for this to be implemented

Why go through all that when just a tiny dab of CSS will do the trick?
