Hi guys, i hope this is the right place to post the topic.
I was wondering about the "commercial" ads featured on some pages. I'm ok with most of them and I understand they can help paying for the site (at least I hope they do). Thing is I've found a few of them quite disturbing, for ethical and personnal reasons. One of them being the pro-GMO propaganda that pops up on your main page when you access the site from france. I guess you have no control on this, but i'd like to know where I should address my concern. Thanks. P.S. Pease excuse my english, not my first language

What is pro-GMO propaganda? Can you be a bit more specific about which adverts it is? Screenshots would help. I doubt much can be done however as this is where the sites revenue comes from. If it really bothers you, run firefox and use adblock.

GMO=Genetically modified organism.
Pro-GMO usually refers to those who support enhancement of food grains using recombinant DNA technology.It's been banned in a few countries and is a touchy topic that has been the subject of intense divisive discussion on the international stage. We all have our opinions on this but if it really annoys you do as Kuro says and use adblock.

Hi, I went through the "read before you post" topic, and used the search fonction but found nothing addressing my question.
If this topic bothers you in any way at all, I won't mind you deleting it. @Kuro: GMO are, as Arthuriuss wrote, genetically modified organisms (mostly wheat and a few other edible vegetables). They are a really sensitive topic where I live (and in Europe to some extent). @Arthuriuss: Just curious, won't bother using adblock. I don't want to start a debate on the matter here, and OF COURSE i'm glad Animetake can diplay ads so it can live on ![]() All I'm curious about is how are the ads are dispatched to different countries (cuz I guess you don't get the same at your place). Again, I don't want to start any debate, so feel free to answer or to erase the whole thing! Cya |
