so ok, its technically a martial art, but still

anyone else ever tried it?

i been doing it now for a year i'm still a white belt. i go three days a week. how many days do you go?

Ninpo for me, but that encompasses Ninjutsu, Kokyusai Ju-Jutsu (the old way) and just about every other martial art in existence. If we are talking about the same kind, its definitely not a sport. What dojo are you with?

i would have loved to try but they dont have anywhere in my country that they would teach jujitsu

i do Danzan ryu jujitsu. the dojo I'm with is nikko

im with the TJF (shorinji kan ju-jitsu)
train usually about 3 times a week, have been doing it just less than a year!
and yeah, we do weapon defense

so does ninpo encompass attacking as well as defense?

Yup. At the lower levels, the Ninjutsu part of it focuses on escape and evasion. We have no blocking moves at all. The Ju-jutsu we do is the same way. We practice basic strikes and punches still, but we don't start learning any of the crazy attacks for Ninjutsu until 7th kyu. Most of what I've learned in Ju-jutsu so far is evasion and counter attacks.
