I play badminton as well. well it looks an easy sport but i guess people here would know just about how much practice and endurance it needs. oh and i got a karakal racquet!
I been playing Badminton for 3 years now. But for the last 4 months I have been out of action due to a wrist injury when playing basketball. This wrist injury has made me unable to hit any forehand shots which make a game of badminton very hard to win unless you have a very strong backhand as well.
But the doctor has told me to rest a couple of months just to let it heal. This Friday, I am going to play again to see what happens. Hopefully I the wrist is healed up, because since I stopped playing, I gained nearly 2kg...
The brand of choice is Yonex over many other brands. I have already sold all my other branded badminton year. I own a touring badminton bag which holds all my badminton gear in it. I use two different shoes. One being the Yonex SHB 99 limited which I use for casual games, and when I get serious, I got a pair of Yonex SHB 101 limited. They have better grip and uses the new technology for comfort and control. They are old shoes now and it is too expensive to buy a new pair.
My rackets are the Yonex Arcsaber 9, which is a ladies racket. I knew my wrist wasn't strong in the first place before it was injured, so to be safe back in 2008, I got this racket for its light weight, speed and power, designed for a women and used by a weak man! My second racket is the Yonex Arcsaber 8DX, I got it for my birthday last year, but this was during the time of the injury, so I haven't even used it once in a game. Very sad. Last racket is only a spare and not a Yonex. It is the Apacs EdgeSaber Z-spark which is a rip off of the Yonex Arcsaber Z-slash. I do not use this racket.
That is about all I own, unlike a friend who goes the entire Li-ning set, socks, shirts etc.
Hopefully when I start playing again this Friday, I won't be too sloppy...
