There should be a cap on all professional sports espically American Football. I bet half of the players would fail a literacy test. Ok that was just mean.. but still 20,30,60 million dollar contracts. WTF Just proves money is the only motivative factor in just about everything. on the other hand, it nice to watch it sometimes.. like every 8 years lol We need a hocky thread, or is there? hmmmm

So at any rate, after cleaning up the off topic, spam, and other wise useless posts, this is whats left.

on another note, Micheal Vick on the Eagles? Hey man whatever works. Donovon McNabb is old, and a veteran QB like Micheal Vick(dogfighting aside) is hard to find.

continuing with the thread of American Football, the Texans are definitely the team to watch this year. We had the number 3 offense last year with the Rookie of the year Steve Slaton and the best Wide Reciever in the league Andre Johnson. Also we got rid of Sage Rosenfels to the Vikings(shitty back up QB), and replaced him with two veteran QBs (Dan Orlovsky and Rex Grossman). Not only that, but our defense is vastly improved with some good drafts and free agent pick ups, so im telling you, Texans are the Super Bowl team of the year.

Also, to Wuxingbagua. For one thing, no one has a 20 million contract. Like 6 million for a REALLY GOOD QB is about like the max. For another thing, only QBs, and other big name people like WRs get anything over 1 million if they are lucky. Some of the linemen, get like 300 thousand dollar contracts(if they are good(and this is 300 thousand over a COUPLE YEARS)). And for one last thing, there IS a cap on American Football. The NFL takes ALL revenue from EVERY stadium, and then SPLITS it BETWEEN EVERY NFL TEAM. Which means, that EVERY NFL TEAM HAS A CAP. Also, its a PROFESSIONAL sport. Few out of millions who try to get to the NFL, actually get to PLAY in the NFL. PROFESSIONALS, who by definition are experts in their field, should be paid what they are worth. Its a multi-billion dollar franchise, the players salaries reflects that.

As an Eagles fan, yet truly unable to speak for everybody else who is, I can only entertain my own opinions. It has been nearly a week now, and will have been one week, as of tonight, since the signing of Michael Vick has been announced.

Granted the national media has really passed on the issue since Favre singed with the Vikings on Tuesday, I can honestly say that turmoil is one of a few words that could accurately describe the wealth of opinions fighting amongst themselves in the city since the Vick signing.

Personally I am of a mind that regardless of the fact that his crimes were heinous, and even putting aside common sense - considering we all do that every time we take part in our own judicial system anyway - Michael Vick deserves a second chance at a career, and I am glad that he will get one with the Philadelphia Eagles. I know deep down that he was most likely guilty for the majority of his crimes, even if he did only spend time in prison for Gambling charges, while pleading not guilty to the Animal related charges in his plea deal, the fact remains that he spent 23 months in a Federal prison, and he deserves the opportunity to prove that he is in fact a rehabilitated human being.

Falsum: I want Andre Johnson on my Fantasy squad, he is in my opinion one of the scariest Wide Receivers in the league. Right behind Boldin, and Fitzgerald.

Also you realize of course that Albert Haynesworth just scored a 100 MILLION dollar contract from the Redskins, don't you? That man is a beast, and granted it is a front loaded contract with a lot of years on it, and he'll never see a good portion of the money because of performance bonuses that he won't meet. However, there are players receiving sick contracts.

Those monday night games where great. I can't believe how well the bills played and technically beat the pats if there wasn't an idiot on their team, I was about to be so happy to see the look on their faces, o well. The Raiders defense was holding the chargers back very well they had the pressure on rivers, held tomlinson from getting anything going, and were all over the receivers. Their offense was spotty because of russle but they were running well and special teams gave up alot of yards but in their defense sproils is a great open field runner. I was worried for a moment but Chargers one and thats all that matters

My god, I didn't know a thread like this existed...

Well, since I live in Minnesota, I'm naturally a Vikings fan. And sorry Falsum, but if the Texans somehow made it to the superbowl, they'll just get beat by Adrian Peterson.

Now seriously... is there anything outside of cyborgs from the future with laser cannons that can stop this man? Is there a question that he's the best running back in the league?
Questions are answered with 180 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 7+ yards per carry in the first game of the season.

We have the offensive rookie of the year with Percy Harvin.
We have a future hall of fame QB with something to prove that just has to manage the games, not win them (we have AP after all... he is our deep threat)
We have perhaps the best D line in the league (only the Giants can compare) and our defensive captain, EJ Henderson, is back from missing virtually all of last year.
Oh, and #1 rush defense the past three years? Might as well chalk up four consecutive years.

My point?
Adrian Peterson=Offensive MVP
Vikings=Superbowl
