Thumbs up MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) - 05-31-2009, 07:47 PM

So anybody practice or watch or anything?
I plan on starting once I get into shape.

I started watching UFC a while ago and my favorite fighter is Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. His style is very simple but he still kicks ass, his fights are always exciting. Plus hes interviews are always like wtf. My second favorite is Forest Griffin, I can't wait to watch his fight vs silva. Heres a few jackson clips so you can see why hes badass. (lol at guy who trys to do a arm bar)
From his pride fights

I don't like to watch but the actual feel is better.
Learned Kung-fu for 5 years and then started Shotokon kata (Karate) for a while and then quit since it was boring. =/

I might join an Aikido club, looks cool.

BTW, anyone heard about Bando before? aka Bando thaing?

Hmmm, not mixed martial arts... just martial arts...
Started off in tae-kwon-do, which ended up being complete soft-ass BS
[as in you pretty much just pay for a pretty belt]...

After that, jumped around a few dojos, Judo etc and ended up in karate [Goju-Ryu] as of 7 yrs old...
Completely outta shape right now though, on my first ever break, gotta go back ...

Some friends wanted to try out kick-boxing, so thought about that too...

Learned basic karate stances...few Arnis moves (the one with yantok - Arnis sticks)...
But I'm used to street brawling....got a few battle scars to prove it....
Technique is just aim for the vital spots...crotch...armpits & neck....you can subdue anyone....

Hehehe!!!!...I like fighting dirty.....

Fucks wrong with you lol.

I want to take BJJ and kickboxing by next year. I also hope to compete one day. When you beat asses of people 2x your weight and have god knows how much reach on you then it may be worth trying

I did it for 3 years along with Kung Fu of about 7 or so years... I fought 16 times in the ring professionally but I would not do it again.... I like all my teeth and bones... when your older you will understand... I got my ass handed to me a couple of times which was a learning experience, thats the reason for entering (my sifu wanted this not me). I also won a lot but that means nothing, its not a street fight. The most bad ass person I ever meet was our senior student. He was a demon... Literally.... I'm 6 foot 6 and 210 solid and would not fight him.. He was 5 foot 6 and about 150 pounds... The greatest skilled fighter I have ever seen or meet personally... Just remember its not about size or style but the application of effectiveness of skilled moves... Have fun and any questions just ask......
