wow, this is 1 cool thread. this thread must live!

one of the first thing to do before learning serious martial arts or entering a tournament is really toughen your body up. u know make those bones real hard,it can break stones.
techniques is plenty, so I suggest learn one by one and mix some up for the better cause u never u know what will happen in a battle.

anyway,I am learning military martial arts ( u know with basic weapons) and much others from some masters. any martial arts master here? what is the best martial arts?

I did kickboxing for a few years when i was younger. Never took it too seriously, just something to do on a Thursday.

I'm starting Muay Thai in January though. This time i'm bringing a friend to increase the odds of sticking with it (i figure you're more enthusiastic about something if you've got a pal doing it with you.)

Welcome to the thread. I am a future martial artist just need the moniez and its all go, Just strengthening up for now. I don't think there is a BEST martial arts I think a martial art is only as good as the person using it. I think its best to mix and find your own style somewhere in between.

just do what my man fedor does; download MMAmasteries.exe then simply install.

also personally, jiujitsu is a must in MMA.

After snooping around a little bit in this thread I got an urge to start doing any kind of martial arts myself. And revive the thread in too. Well I actually did some karate myself for about 7 months, but was unsatisfied with my dojo and master so I quit 3 months ago. Since I felt like I never really learnt anything. The style was Suishin Ryu, almost like a sub to Kyokushin, but also some Buddhist religious views mixed in. Have also learned some really basic close combat battle in the Swedish army doing some Krav maga. Plus some simple moves involving using a rifle or a handgun.
I still do some stance and breathing exercises on my own, but I need my personal drill sergeant to roar in my ear when I am too lazy to really get going. So I will keep searching for a style that fits me. What I liked with karate was kumite (sparing) part since this was full contact. Or rather like 70%, without punches to the head, but kicks were. I liked the feeling. I've no wish what so ever to go pro in any kind of MA, but I like the training.

Questions. There are like millions of "cool" videos showing different techniques and moves on the net. But are there any vids with real applications of those techniques? And then I don't mean pre-choreographed demonstrations.

And any tips how to get more agile? Like stretching in combination with all-round body workout.
