I think it should be left up to the player to know how much they can play. People are stupid anyway. If they can't play this game till they die they will find another.

The only problem is that you have to buy the game first before you start paying the monthly subscriptions.

And last time I checked, its goddamned $60. I'm so happy I skipped it.

yes it is $50 for the game plus $13 per month. I will never pay for it even though i am a FF fan

Sheesh the negatism... I tried the beta... not bad. Definitly something to look at in couple months when I have a better PC.. I was thinking of plugging in my PS2 controller... but keyboard alone does the job well enough. (still probably be easier with the controller)

I don't know guys... I am a huge FF fan but I shied away from FF XI when it came out because of the initial cost and the monthly fee. I believe that when you buy a game, it is a one-time payment, not a continuous one. This is one of the reasons that I never bought Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age, the various DLCs that you need to pay extra for is ridiculous. So I will probably stay away from FF XIV

lol Well if you buy ffXIV you get like 90 days free play time but I can't see some mmo like this going F2P even if it failed and they were just tossing it out there for whoever did enjoy to enjoy as F2P. I'm just waiting to see if they somehow pull something out of their hat and makes this entertaining for me I don't really mind a monthly fees never really have I played ff11 and wow together for sometime but I can see its not everyones thing.
