Hey guys, it's been over a month since the release of SC2. For those of you who bought the game and kept yourselves open to all the hype, you have been very well awarded =). For those who thought the game was all hype and decided not to buy it, then too bad . Anyways, I just want to update this post with a bit of simple introductory info on how SC2 is doing since the release.
Since the release of the game, SC2 has received numerous reviews from several notable gaming communities, all giving a high rating. Sales figures speak for [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], as Blizzard sells about 1.8 million copies on the very first day. Following the day of release there have been literally dozens upon dozens of various tournaments. From tournaments ranging from the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], to large major tournaments such as [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]- then of course [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] which is a tournament in a league of it's own shelling out over $500,000 in prizes.
Now more than ever, getting into the competitive scene of Starcraft has never been easier. B.Net 2 does quite a decent job at pairing up players of similar skills, a huge improvement from the old B.Net system where smurfs (strong players making new accounts to noobstomp) were quite rampant, not to mention the level of skill overall is quite high in SC1 nowadays. There are literally dozens of different Open tournaments for all levels of skill for players to join to put their skills to the test. For those that pull ahead and come up on top of these tournaments, it really is an achievement that will bring you a step closer to playing on the big stage of Competitive E-Sports.
Of course not everyone is into the competitive scene. Fortunately SC2 is no push-over when it comes to the casual side of gaming. The fantastic map-making community of Starcraft speaks for itself, providing hundreds of very entertaining custom maps for endless hours of fun. 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 modes are available for a nice fun night of gaming with your buddies if you're not one for the intense 1v1 ladder. It's also a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] from time consuming MMO's that the majority of gamers indulge into. Even just 2 - 3 hours of gaming can leave you with a very satisfied night.

Unlimited multiplayer potential in this game for sure, though I don't have the patience to become a decent enough player in multiplayer. I'll wait for some superhero maps or whatever to mess around in instead :3
Even if there were no multiplayer I'd buy it just for the campaign, as I want the continuation from the first game ^_^

Retail store told me i will get the game on 26th so i can play when battle.net will be up on 27th early morning
I'm not a starcraft nerd, got to the silver league but i loved UMS in starcraft 1
would have been playing it right now if it supported 1680x1050 resolution
Honestly, if I get it I will get it for single player. I tried the multiplayer and besides me not doing too well in it, I didn't enjoy it much. (I do usually have fun even if I lose )
Considering people have been playing SC1 for a decade, the graphics needed a heavy upgrade, which they got. It's kinda hard to change the gameplay of a RTS into something NEW.
You should try and watch some videos of professionals against each other, that's taking the gameplay to a whole new level :3
