Two maps? Wow, that's a lot of variety. I played it because my friends kept bugging me about it, and I found it to be one of the most boring games ever. Two maps, you don't get to command an army, you only have 3v3 or 5v5. Basically you just have on hero character, that you lvl up and buy weapons, and keep fighting till someone loses. That's about it. Pretty simple.

Half the time the battle is decided by which team was unlucky enough to have a team member leave during the middle of a game. Or if you get unlucky enough to be stuck with a bunch of retards who all solo and get slaughtered.

Games boring. You can't even pan the camera to different angles.

HoNs popularity in general is getting more and more stagnant as of late. Unless something drastic changes I think it's going to fall into the realm of current DotA where it's still played by it's hard core fan base but no casuals or new players.

LoL has a lot to offer to a more casual audience due to an RPG style leveling and customization that makes players feel rewarded when the win but also makes it so the 30 mins they just spent losing a game wasn't a total waste of time.

Honestly I think LoL is currently more balanced than HoN or DotA ever have been but that's debatable obviously.

Really the only thing HoN has over DotA anyway is a matchmaking system...
