Last thing I read was that Diablo 3 is coming out Q1 2012. which means....I have to upgrade my PC

PC only game that isn't modable is beyond epic fail. Moding is the crown of pc gaming and what sets it apart from consoles, and the reason I'm gaming on pc (although I enjoy gaming on consoles as well).
But that's Blizzard and Diablo so they're gonna get away with it - pathetic!

If it's a good game there's really no reason to mod it. I'll play Skyrim over and over on my 360 and still enjoy the crap out of it. Diablo 2 was a lot of fun and it didn't need to be modded.

That's one way to put it, but what moders did for Skyrim in this small amount of time is they made it look and play better, nicer, stronger, louder...
Yeah, it was great game to begin with but why not make it even better if you can and mod community certainly can - they even surpass original game developers in so many occasions and not just in Skyrim (look ENB mod for GTA4 for example)...that's the point of pc gaming for me, personalize and customize, not constraining you in any way.
And most important aspect is that you can play game with new fun modded content indefinitely, never get bored.
But no worries I'm sure Blizzard has couple of DLCs already in plan.

they should actually make a movie based on Diablo 3. The story line itself is pretty good already

My thoughts: It plays more like dungeon siege 3 than diablo.
