The Tower of Eternity Awaits

• Aion: The Tower of Eternity is a visually stunning massively multiplayer online role-playing game featuring cutting-edge imagery, breath-taking environments, and a unique world of fantasy. You play a pivotal role in the fate of Atreia, where flying takes on a completely new role and the enemy is not only the other player faction, but a deadly ancient evil as well.

The World of Aion

• The universe of Aion is stunningly beautiful and unique.
• Your adventures and travels take you to the shell-world of Atreia, once connected by Aion, The Tower of Eternity, but now shattered into two halves and a myriad of shards by an ancient cataclysm. Players will traverse these lands in their first steps on a journey to bring salvation to the world, explore floating islands, voids and other amazing vistas.
• Each half of the shattered world is inhabited by one of two playable divine factions, the Elyos and the Asmodian. Isolated by the cataclysm that broke Atreia apart, each side brooded on the catastrophic events of the past and their hatred intensified for the other.
• Many centuries later, fragments of the destroyed tower began to float mysteriously in the air, and soon investigations discovered unstable portals or gates that opened into an unknown place of darkness and wonder where fragments of Aion drifted. Called the Abyss, where the once-lost power of flight is now commonplace, the two races eventually discovered one another and very quickly went to war.
• As the Elyos and the Asmodians uncovered new, more stable portals to the Abyss, they encountered a primeval terror that they had known only in their histories: the Balaur. Previously imprisoned within the Abyss during the cataclysm, the Balaur are the ancient enemy of all the peoples of Atreia, and it was the Balaur’s continual war that had led to the eventual shattering of Aion. Now they have returned, and the survival of both races is now more uncertain than ever.

Aion Factions

• The Asmodians are a brave and hardy people, separated from the Elyos by the Epic Cataclysm and plunged into a world of darkness and despair. To survive such desolation is one thing, but to thrive and prosper is quite another. The scars of their history are still exposed for all to see; as the Asmodians sank into their cold and sombre world, their bodies started to change. In the darkness, their skin fell pale, and as their eyes adapted they developed an otherworldly glow about them.
  
• The Elyos occupy the lower half of Atreia, known as Elysium. After the Epic Cataclysm, they found themselves bathed in sunlight for over 750 years and, as a result, have transformed into a beautiful and radiant people. However, their splendor has also led to the Elyos becoming arrogant; they see themselves as blessed by Aion, while the Asmodians, cast into darkness by the Epic Cataclysm, are seen by the Elyos as cursed creatures.
  
• The term “Balaur” invokes images of terror and fear for the level of destruction that they caused, and continue to cause, in Atreia. A mighty and highly intelligent race created by Aion to rule the planet’s population (including the human races), the Balaur quickly became fixated with power and servitude. Their obsession eventually threatened The Tower of Eternity after violating the restrictions that Aion placed on them, forcing the god to create the Empyrean Lords to safeguard the planet, and its people.

I like the website design and the flash that is being used in the header, but it wasn't the site that caught my eye.
The cg trailer and also the gameplay was intense and got me intrigued with this new game.

MMORPG games that I have played were games such as WOW(PS), RFOnline(PS) and also ROSE(all servers except jrose).

I'm hoping when aion na releases it will be able to keep me playing games online

Yeah I am thinking of playing Aion too, even though I'm moving away from MMORPG's and closer to FPS's

mmorpgs i've played are Silkroad, FlyFF, Perfect World, Shaiya, WoW, RS, other stuff lol

One question???? Can you play this on a Mac thats 4 years old....

I don't know if it will be released 4 mac... but 4 years old might run it in low-to-mid settings.

It seems like a good mmorpg, but I've had enough of them...

300+ hours of WoW played and 100+ of 9Dragons... It's enough.

never enough! diablo 3 coming out soon (probably years from now knowing blizzard though)!!!!!

aion looks pretty cool though... if its free ill probably try it out. if not, well... i have a hard time justifying the monthly fee for WoW as it is.

Played this game a bunch, have a 50 Sorc on Triniel, really dissapointed with it to be honest, it doesen't deliver end game. You'd be much better off playing WoW.
