Well, I do. It's been years since they went extinct... but I still remember how great it was to go to the local mall, slip a 5 into the token machine, then head over to my favorite arcade games. When you're with a group of friends and the girls wanted to look at clothes, us guys would beeline to the arcade.

Playing people online is terrific, but doesn't have the same thrill as seeing someone playing Tekken 2 and plunking a token in the 2P slot to interupt his game to challenge him, kicking his ass, then taking over the machine he was already using.

... or getting behind the wheel of Daytona USA and racing someone sitting in the seat next to you.

Ahhh... the memories...

Of course I do, all those fun times and messing around with all those fighting, racing and shooting games. Not to mention my Beatmania obsession at the time.

Speaking of Daytona USA, I still can't get ROLLING STAAAAAAART out of my head. Those were some good times.

I don't get it... Why don't you guys then just go to the arcade section of the mall and relive those moments?

Don't tell me they have removed them from the malls in the USA or wherever you guys live?
We still have arcades in most malls here

i miss them alot.. we have an aracde still here, but it has all the crappy games.. what was the game you played that had combo hit in it... i think killer intinst.. was that it??

... No arcades anywhere in sight in my country. The only things that are left are little things for children to ride. Like cars/ponies/whatever

Arcades are basically extinct. Basically, when the ps2 era came around was the demise for arcades since consoles were starting to get to the same level graphically. After that, developers slowly quit making new arcade machines (which are super fucking expensive to make) and focused more on consoles.

This is why any arcade that actually still exists only has games that are like 10 years old.

Hmmm... hard to say what was the best. I mainly stuck to fighting games.

I know my best memory though... beating a guy 40 games in a row at Tekken 2. After suffering a few harsh beating (including a couple perfect rounds) he told me he wouldn't quit until he beat me. He quit after the 40th game.
