YO! i updated my firmware (and of course, i backed up my previous things) but when i load it, it the screen stays black and says loading. Whats going on..

I remember my brother asking me this too. He also had 1.18 thinking it was the latest firmware, but it isn't.

Though updating to the newest firmware that might not fix the problem. You could have a fake R4, shit from China you know? My bro's R4 worked normally for about 3-4 years, then it got to the point where he had to reinsert numerous times, trying different stupid ways, until it gets past that loading screen.

ehh it could be, i also got mine a few years back and it still works if i had the older firmware

i got a WOOD R4 kernal and it works with everything so far
