Naga, why not just give all normal members the function to change their own title. It should solve all the spam problems for a friggin title.

By phuzy saying custom title is earned... He means that you get it for winning competitions and stuff. Admins do not give it out on a whim. If everyone had a custom title it would stop them being special and thigns to work for, wouldn't it.

Also Kurosaki, theres only 1 way to obtain a title here and that's with SOTW only, so yeah. I am sure you also want to stop the pointless spamming for normal member ranks.

SOTW has 'custom' titles as prizes, and the regular titles go up by post count
but aren't anything to look forward to anyways...

The only purpose of a visible post count is to show who's active around the forums and who isn't. If somebody is gonna spam to get a user title they want whether they can see the post count or not doesn't matter. All that changes is they don't know how long till they get to another one. The user titles are gonna turn into a status symbol just like the post count did, and you'll be right back where you started.

That's exactly what I'm doing here. lol I couldn't care less about the user titles. If I did I would post more till I got to one I like. There are people that do though, and since the user title can only be changed by posting a lot till you get to the next one there are people that will do exactly that. As long as something changes based on post count there will be somebody that will abuse it.
