Default To those interested in starting Naruto - 05-21-2010, 09:28 AM

This is only to those who haven't seen Naruto but have some tiny interest in starting it:

So, I finally finished catching up on Naruto to the most recent episode. I am thankful to all the internet posts that warned which episodes are fillers, because that truly made the Naruto story tight.

In any case, my experience with this show is pretty good. There isn't a deep message in the story, but it is a very expansive and has somewhat of a creative plot. The animation is ok, and you get hooked.

It's not the "best anime" as some people might have put it. The show might have a slow start for some, but as you progress through, there are some exciting scenes to be enjoyed.

In any case, if you live in the United States, Hulu has both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden available. I am finally at the most recent Shippuden episode 161, and I am not regretting putting my time to marathon up to this point. If you are worried that the story might deteriorate, don't worry. This show has some impressive plot developments where the story continues to progress with a consistent stream of good material. But, be sure to skip all the filler episodes, because they were a pain to many Naruto watchers (They have no impact on the story whatsoever).

It took three months (on and off marathoning) to catch up to the most recent episode, and I think it is a great show to watch if you want to rest your eyes off to somewhat an entertaining show.

Naruto's been failing with the filler arcs
But lately I've started to remember why I watched Naruto and Bleach in the first place
(Awesome arcs on both ATM)

The fillers are deadly...especially when they're like 20 episodes long.

I beg to differ
They spent about 8 months on that last filler arc
While naruto spent like 10 episodes on their last one
Which had an ending that matches the manga (They got the whatever-tails from Okita) (By Okita I mean the character of the guy that dubs Okita in Gintama)

Ghostel, I suggest watching it but skip the fillers
When it's awesome - it's the (2nd) best!

I hear you. The interesting thing is, however, that plot areas that seemed to have insignificant value (i.e. they are boring) actually play a critical role in later parts of the overall story. I think the reason a lot of people love Naruto is due to plot devices that makes just *clicks* in later parts of the anime - which makes up for all the boring feeling in the beginning.

However, you are not missing that much if you are not following the show... yet.

I know that's why i don't bother yet. The thing is that in the beggining at least the story must progress a bit fast in order to show us what is actually about or to attract people. For me, it faild on that i saw 25 episodes and come on, the battles weren't half amusing i was bored as hell and i was thinking that's it? why an i watching it?
But i gave it a try, or rather, i forced my self to saw that much until i broke..
This sounded dramatic o.O

How can someone drop an anime that saw 200 episodes already..? o.o
I was about to drop bleach too, but i just stopped watching the fillers and started again when they stopped..

Fillers are just fillers, and if it weren't for them, then we would have to wait for the next episode appear in 3 or 4 months, and maybe even more, so the fillers does play a vital role.

Of course not a lot of anime fans would like fillers, but what Naruto fan can be patience for six months at least?

This is just my opinion, so don't take it too serious.
