I mal'd it... I didn't remember the title, but I remembered the series as soon as I saw a picture for it. It was actually one of the new series that caught my eye because of the setting. I'll definately be watching it when it's finished. I never watch ongoing anime. The only exception has been persona 4, but only because I played the game and knew everything that was going to happen.
Ironically, on mal, the first recommendation listed for sakamichi no apollon was nodame cantabile. I knew NC was a well received series, but was still surprised at how high the rating for it is on mal.

No it's an ongoing series. I thought you may be watching it right now.
You're right about it sucking. I couldn't stand it and I can't believe I forced myself to watch two seasons of it.

I've never actually watched while album. I just know of it (and how bad it's supposed to be) and have peeked at an episode. I was just comparing it to nodame.
Is Sakamichi no Apollon a finished series? If it's complete then I'll check it out.

Are you watching this series: Sakamichi no Apollon. It's really good. I know you'll like this.
-
Lol, you've watched White Album? I didn't think you did. I still remember my agony after watching an episode of that series.

White Album is vomit. NC is gold. The first season is really good, but it's just the warm up for the brilliance of the second season.
-
I'll keep it in mind. I like romance series like that. When I heard about it having something to do with music, I remembered White Album and wanted to shoot something.

I think biribiri is the only reason I'm still watching Index 2. I do actually like index herself as well. Touma is meh. In fact, pretty much every male character is meh.
There are scenes in NC here and there where there's short performances of Mozart and some other classical legends, but it's mainly just a comedy/romance. The main musical aspect is just Nodame and Chiaki both being musical prodigies and wanting to make a career out of it.
The theme is music, but probably not to the degree you think it is. If you want a romance series, keep NC on your radar. Chiaki is a male character that you'd like because he's not a wuss. At times he even comes across as a jerk because of how commanding he is.
The first season is essentially Nodame being the unkept prodigy going nowhere in life, and Chiaki who is the goal oriented prodigy helping her get her life together. That, of course, means they fall in love. The first season's ending is one of the best romance endings I've seen.

Index without the Railgun is boring though. I like more Railgun. Also, more Accelerator awesomeness is much needed.
Haven't watched Nodame Cantabile. I'm not much into music anime.

Well, I'm currently watching the second season of Index. I kinda had high expectations since the first season was good... but so far it's just average. I'll never get enough Biribiri though...
After I finish Index 2, I plan on watching the final season of Nodame Cantabile. First season was really good. Second season was fucking amazing. The third season better not let me down.
