Just went and watched "through the passing of seasons", and I must say, it's not worth it. Not only nothing new happened, but the clips they had were good but none of it made any sense, if you haven't watched the series. Also, they didn't even have the good stuff. Don't watch if you value not losing interest in the series. I'm going back and rewatching all the good stuff just to bring my mind back to sanity.
I agree, that old guy would've ruined everything for poor Yuasku. I'm glad he disappeared. I don't think I would've been able to take it.
Kyoko was a tough nut to crack, if you know what I mean, but finally she came around and understood her feelings. What I liked, and was really hoping that it'll happen, is when Godai went to Soichiro's grave and said that he'll share her with him. That really made Kyoko fully except Godai entirely without any doubts.
You making me want to go read the manga now, talking about leotards and peepholes.
Everything was perfect after Mitaka got married. Seriously, when he got out of the way, Kyoko finally started getting the point that she was in love with Yusaku. Everything after that was simply amazing. Some run ins here and there but still amazing. Also, yes, Kyoko's reply to Yusaku's proposal was absolutely perfect.
I wish I didn't read what you said about the manga. Now, I want to read the manga just to see how they were able to live with each other in the same apartment. That new tenant was living in room 2. He's available in the manga. Since you've seen that movie, you saw how Yotsuya got him to go upstairs and drink with them. I guess the entire tenants of Maison Ikkoku are a bunch of uncaring people. Everything that happens, doesn't matter to them.
I downloaded the movie I was looking for, "through the seasons." I just want to see if there's anything new with it, like an extra scene at the end.
Oh, I forgot another fun part. It was when Kyoko kissed Godai. OMG, not only was I surprised she did it but before that during this scene:
I lmao at how he imagined himself falling for that trick.
My final thoughts; I raged, I laughed, I done everything that you can think of, except anything naughty just to get that out the way, and in the end I thank you for giving me such a grand series. Again, I still feel that they could've cut back on some of those episodes that felt like a bunch of fillers, but in the end, it was well worth it. Besides, I can always go back and get rid of the episodes that just piss me off and nothing of value occurs. You and I already know when and where the good stuff start and end. So, no reason to not make it better for us.
Btw, I was wondering if you knew of a place that has the movie: Through The Passing Of Seasons? I can't seem to get a good download going for me.
That look Kyoko gave Godai gave an everlasting chill down my spine. I'm still feeling it till this day, especially the last one. I also liked that interaction they had, when she ran away and went home. I must say it was a huge ride but well worth it at the end. Let me not forget to mention Mitaka and how he was duped in thinking Asuna was pregnant with his kid. Actually, it was his fault for not getting a "clear" understanding on what was going on but that's one way to get rid of an annoying rival. Also, I believe Akemi did an good job in forcing a resolution between Kozue and Godai. He would've never moved on his own and you know it. Those tenants are annoying as hell but funny and very helpful when the time is called for it.
Finished it all!! I must say, I'm very happy that I watched this series. Although, I had my issues with certain cast members. In the end, it worked out wonderfully. Honestly, I felt like this series could've done great with less episodes. I mean, I felt like I was watching fillers at times. They could've skipped some of that other early stuff and made do with everything that's relevant in leading to the final stages of the series. Nonetheless, it worked out in the end. Loved how it ended and how everything was resolved. Also, I watched that movie but it was more like an alternate ending movie. I think I picked the wrong one. It basically takes place before their wedding in two days. It's just hanging around seeing Yagami finally knowing Godai is getting married with other things, like a new character living in apart 2. I'm going to get the movie "Through the seasons." The movie focuses on Godai and Kyoko's relationship and nothing more.
