Yeah, SM is a long series. I'm only half way through and I've been watching it since summer. But my anime watching habbits are sporadic.

Well, you'll have to realize that SM came out in 1992... so it's a little shaky through 30 episodes. Other than basically originating the "magical girl" genre it's influenced a lot of anime, and the characters are still copied even today. Such as the quiet, brainy blue haired girl, and the friend that always nags at the main female character... and the cute animal sidekick.
