I think there's gotta be a changeup every now and then. After some slice of life/comedy I like to watch some mindless action. I always try to mix up what genre I watch... and after a bunch of of "simple" anime I like to watch something more introspective.

To sum up EoE, Misato gets killed, Asuka gets "mutilated" because Shinji couldn't get to her in time, Rei merges with Lilith and initiates the Human Instrumentality Project, Shinji freaks out and chooses for mankind to evolve into one supreme entity, then changes his mind which kills Rei/Lilith and mankind reverts back to seperate entities but the planet is now basically a wasteland, Asuka is brought back, and Shinji strangles her. The end.

Ahhh... a classic scene. What better way to convey how fucked up Shinji is than by having him lock the door and proceeding to shoot his happiness into his palm from an exposed Asuka? But seriously, EoE had the epic ending it deserved. If you don't remember it, then you really should check it out again.

I saw the Escaflowne movie, but never saw the series... though I do have it on my external hdd. I really liked the music in the movie.

TTGL wasnt a bad series but i dont like mecha anime with the exception of Escaflowne (the Movie and series) and Needless. TTGL needed more romance, comedy and ecchi. iam not really picky about the type of anime i watch but for some reason mecha/psychological/drama anime (NGE) i do not like.

I think you're only like the third person I know that's watched Honneamise. It's actually one of my favorite movies and was one of the first animes I ever bought back on VHS. Loved the soundtrack.

I'm a little surprised you didn't care for TTGL... but I guess it's not like I really know your preferences in anime. Maybe it was just too... "out there" for you...

And yeah, the last two eps of NGE were crap, but things like that happen when you run out of funds. I feel like I've asked you this already (or maybe it's just because I ask everyone that's watched nge), but have you seen End of Evangelion? It was the epic ending the series deserved.

i should have waited for the Thora release but i was just too impatient. i downloaded the Wiki ver.1080p then i think the next day Thora released their 720p which i DL. right now iam DL part 11 of the Thora 1080p.
ive never been a big fan of Gainax's anime series. Ive seen TTGL, FLCl, The Wings of Honneamise and NGE but only FLCL is the only one i really liked. the only reason iam DL the NGE movies is because ive heard that it was different from series. much more "mainstream" i guess. the last 2 ep. of NGE series was terrible!! but youre right i wouldnt mind having it HD.

I dream that one day the original eva series gets the HD treatment. I find it odd and semi-disheartening that Gainax's greatest, such as NGE, FLCL, and TTGL aren't in bluray...
