I don't have an xbox so unless it somehow gets released as a downloadable game on the PSN network I'll probably never end up playing it.

Back when that game came out my roommate had an xbox... though I can't remember if I bought it or just rented it. I remember convincing him to get Ninja Gaiden (because I wanted it) which he quit playing because he couldn't beat the boss of the second level.

Yeah, that's the star wars game. It was so long ago though that I don't really remember anything about it. I grew up on final fantasy and dragon warrior so I may just be biased... I may already have my mind made up that I'm not gonna like a western rpg before I even play it. I can't really deny it. But there's just a different... feel... between western and jrpg's. That star wars game probably is great, I just never really gave it a chance because that western feel is such a turn off for me.

Tactics on the psp is sweet. There's some new playable characters like the dark knight, which lets you basically own everything... though it takes a lot to make one. There's also Balthier from FF12, and his gun abilities own.

Words just don't do Persona any justice, and I can't recommend Persona 3 and 4 enough. You should really consider picking up P3 on the psp... even though they stripped away the anime cinemas and navigating the real world is done with a curser instead of moving your character with in-game graphics, the game will destroy your life. The story, characters and music are some of the finest in gaming. Also P4 for the ps2... kiss the outside world goodbye. Serious. It's that addicting.

I'm not a huge fan of western rpg's, though there's a lot that I haven't played. I've tried games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 but never got into them. There was a Star Wars rpg on the xbox that was supposed to be great, but I lost interest after a couple days of playing... and I love star wars.

Even though it's FF, I love FF Tactics. Played it twice on the ps1, and again when released as "Advance" on the psp.

My next favorite series would be Persona, though I've only played 3 and 4... but they're about as addicting as a game can get. I love the music and characters. Plus they both had great stories.

I'm also a fan of the Disgea series and Dragon Quest/Warrior. Dragon Warrior on the NES was the first RPG I played.

By no means did I dislike FF8. I really liked it, it's just one of my least favorite in the series. It's like having your least favorite Playmate of the Month.

I actually forgot about Terra being in Dissidia... but I was refering more to her being polygonal in FF6.

The disparity with FF6 compared to the ones that followed is that in the world of 3D graphics it's difficult to get emotionally attatched to chibi looking fat sprites for characters. The thing is, I played FF6 when it originally came out on the SNES, and at that time there was nothing like it for emotional attatchment and graphical beauty. It was the first time I actually cared about the characters in a videogame. And FF6 still has the best soundtrack of all the FF's.

FF6, 7 and X are my favs... FF8 is actually one of my least favorites in the series. I wasn't a fan of collecting magic spells. Give me MP. I'm quite fond of Garnet in FF9, and if Terra from FF6 had the fortune of being polygons rather than a sprite she'd be challenging all the FF ladies.

Also, I liked Aerith. You've played Crisis Core, right?

Plus "The Dance" in FFX is one of the greatest moments in the history of FF.

Well, I could kick rinoa out right away... of all the FF ladies she's one of my least favorite. Yuna and Tifa are two of my favs with Aerith and Rikku behind them. In the end... probably yuna. She's proportioned more realisically and there's a stronger bond since there's two full FF games where she's a main character.
