Hi!
Well, i built a server computer in a standard case, and stuffed it with WD drives, Caviar Black.
I ran out of space in the case (it holds ten), so went the external route.
For the best options, go to
www.pc-pitstop.com.
I bought an 8-bay external case that holds 8 drives.
I bought the PCI-Exp. card that goes in your motherboard.
I bought the two cables that connect from the card to the new 8bay case.
I bought only 2 drives for it.
Over time, I added drives as I needed them.
I use RAID1, 2 drives mirrored.
If 1 dies, I dont lose anything, I can buy a replacement drive and mirror them again.
I have two of those 8bay cases now, plus what is in the PC.
Great I have never lost a drive! But at least I'm ready if one dies.
It might seem expensive, but these setups at this site are the bomb, and better than what is at Newegg, Amazon, etc.
I download and collect anime, I love it, and want it forever.
Cheers and happy holidays!
