Default Does reading the manga ruin the anime for you? - 04-11-2010, 06:45 PM

A few months back i was watching an episode of naruto, i forget which, anyway i got impatient i erally wanted to know what happened next, so i started to read the manga.

i stayed up all night and and half of the morning catching up. after i started reading the manga i realized that i was ignoring that anime it's not as good as it once were.

so I'm just curious if this happens to you as well, does reading ruin the anime for you or do you feel that it doesn't effect the experience. the reason for this topic is that after watching the latest episode of one piece (which happens to be my favorite anime series) I'm dying to find out what happens between luffy and black beard.

I get way more out of the anime, and I'm not an impatient person so unlike some I don't need to go ahead and read what will happen

Well, as for Bleach, I first watched anime(all episodes which were released until that), and then continued by reading manga. Now reading manga, and watching anime.
as for Naruto: I watched main story as an anime, dropped on fillers, and continued on manga. Now reading manga, anime dropped completely.

But that's enough for those titles. Also reading Kaichou wa maid-sama, and watching anime of it, too.

i agree, the anime definitely has more to offer, i read an entire manga in under 3 mins and then i'll have to wait another week.

the anime is usually 4-5 chapters of the manga so its more satisfying, not to mention you can actually see whats going on. i don't usually read manga but i tried the naruto manga and i got hooked.

I read the Dance in the Vampire Bund manga which spoiled a couple of things.
But then I go watch the anime and some bits are missing from manga [good bits might I add] which is kinda lame xD

manga usually leaves a better impression on action titles. it really takes a good production team like BONES for people to view an action sequence and come away ecstatic. action sequences in manga are a lot easier to make cause you skip all of the fluidity of the animation. although I will note, Freezing manga (rather manhwa i guess) did some really incredible artwork on their fight scenes. that said, i HATE seeing a half-assed job in anime (sup bleach and naruto).

anyways your title is a little backwards from my mindset. watching a bad anime ruins the manga for me.
