Not really, I mean, his arm did change into metal. I never saw that before. It was even faster and he didn't get small after using it. Still, I would've preferred a "Haki Shield" to protect himself in the water. That would've been way better.

Lolz, I didn't say this Chapter was lame. I said it was great, just that, it would have been epic if Luffy did tame the Kraken somehow. I also said that Oda showed that they all had increased their strenght, but haven't show us anything new yet. I mean the Haki armour is nothing new (other than the colour) it's called the colour of Armarments for a reason, because it creates an armour around you, although in most cases it's invisible. So it help Luffy resist the Ocean's effect a little, but Robin also managed to resist it without haki, so yeah. If you have anything that you should be surprised about, it should be Sanji, and the way he can use his former "ultimate" attack, which consist of spinning quickly to generate heat via friction, under water, in a bubble with no friction and no spinning.

I seriously think Oda was just showing off by putting them underwater where everyone is weaker, to foreshadow just how friggin powerful everyone has gotten and I'm trying to figure out who I think was more awesome this chapter.

Sanji has shown unnatural growth here and I'm pretty sure the guy can fight not only in water but ON it too. I agree with what was said about him before; he doesn't even have to spin to start up DJ and the fact that he's used it before is likely proof that those okamas have taught him some devastating moves.

Luffy surprised me this chapter. I thought he wouldn't be able to punch the kraken because of his comment about losing strength under the ocean... yet he gear thirded the hell out of that thing! AND didn't go chibi after holding it for that long.

Now everyone noticed that the strawhats are underwater, but consider the DEPTH at which they are under the ocean. I can't confirm it, but I'm guessing the effect the sea has on DF users is even greater at that depth than it is at the surface simply cause of the compression.

The extremely debilitating limits placed on the crew followed by their amazing performance is almost scary. What the hell are they capable of on the surface?

Considering Luffy spent 2 years straight training, being able to use Gear Second on a specific body part and not going chibi after Gear Third should have been a given. After all, all their previous ultimate moves should now have been mastered, and they should have developed new ultimate moves.
