Oh hey there.

I'm Lyss. I'm seventeen. I like anime, manga, writing, reading, and a few other things.

I like pretty much any genre -- anything with a plot that captures my interest is fair game. The only things that really turn me off from an anime or manga are horror and too much ecchi. A bit is okay, but too much is just...why? >>;

My favourite manga authors are, primarily, Kamatani Yuuki and CLAMP. The anime adaptions of CLAMP's manga suck, by the way. My favourite manga is Nabari no Ou. I also enjoy a variety of others such as Pandora Hearts, Kuroshitsuji, Bleach, Mirai Nikki, Liar Game, and Monster. The first manga I ever read was Fruits Basket and it has a special place in my heart. I used to be a Naruto fan, but it's gotten boring and overall I think Bleach is more mature. My favourite character from Naruto is Sakura, and my favourite character from Bleach is Orihime. For some reason my love tends to go toward the more hated characters -- I didn't even know Sakura or Orihime were that ostracized until I actually stepped foot into the fandom. Call me shallow but I dislike One Piece primarily because of the art. I have to at least like the art before I can read a manga or watch an anime.

I don't really have a favourite anime since it's hard for me to choose. Generally I get a bunch that catch my interest and watch them in moderation. According to my crudely made list I've watched a total of 58 anime and have a to-watch list that spans about a hundred and will inevitably grow. Wish me luck if I ever watch them all. I recently finished Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and am currently marathoning Mawaru Penguindrum. It's...crazy. As a general rule I only finish watching an anime if I like it. If I don't, I drop it. The only exception to this rule was Itazura na Kiss. I hate that anime with a passion but forced myself to watch it just to see if what I wanted to happen would happen. It didn't. Don't watch ItaKiss, no matter what the raving fans tell you.

I like writing reviews for anime or manga that I read or watch, and might repost some of my reviews here. Or I might just link you all to my review blog which will someday be up and running. I don't know.

I like BL and GL and het. I think both genders are attractive. I tend to develop crushes on female characters faster. When I really really like something, I tend to fangirl about it. In other words, I think about it all the time and generally have to make graphics for it. If my avatar changes that generally means I've got a new obsession. (Now, I just thought Horo was pretty. My Wolf and Spice addiction passed a few years ago.)

For random bits of information, when I'm not watching anime or reading manga I study, read books, or play video games. That's about as exciting as my life gets. Some of my favourite game series are the Shin Megami Tensei series and Assassin's Creed. I also like Nier and Final Fantasy 13. 13 is the only FF game I've ever liked, by the way.

I collect artbooks of manga I like. But, I have to really, really like the manga since I'm not going to spend fifty dollars on a book full of pictures that I don't adore. Currently my collection spans exactly three titles: Nabari no Ou ~Liricamente~, Tokyo Babylon Photographs, and the RG Veda artbook. I've been studying Japanese for five years, I have a Youtube account where I post drama CD translations (exactly one so far. If you want me to translate a cd for you, private message me a link to it and I can give you a script within a few days and maybe a video within a week), and I read manga in Japanese. Yup. I try not to read online since...well. I want to read it in Japanese. xD;
