Default Hellloooo everyone, selective anime watcher here :0 - 09-26-2011, 01:12 AM

I'm not sure why I registered here as I'm not a diehard anime fan, but I do enjoy plenty of series!

I used to be way into anime back in middle school, always watching the japanese audio with english subs. Flash forward a few years, I'm now graduated and work retail while going to college, but I do occasionally watch a few series that I find on netflix!

I actually hate watching japanese versions of anime now, as I find it takes your focus off the art and expressions which is one of the few reasons I love to watch anime from time to time. Gundam Seed & Full Metal Alchemist are my nostalgic favorites I used to watch back in the day, & I have yet to find another series that captures me as well as thoes two did. I can't stand thoes never-ending-esque series such as naruto, bleach, etc. Not because they are popular and childish, I just prefer a nice 10-50 episode series with a good ending that makes you wish there was more & keeps you thinking.

I only really watch anime on netflix, and I found Eden of the East to be a VERY fun series to watch. A great balance between serious/suspense/comical, and the characters I found to be so likable, the english cast was great. Samurai Champloo will always be one of my favorite series too, the characters are great & has a great mix of action and comedy, not to mention the soundtrack is the best I've heard in any series.

I watched some Full Metal Panic & thought the series was alright, I just hate how series like this always have a flirt relationship between the main character & a girl but nothing EVER happens. Now I don't want it to be a lovey-dovey type situation that departs from the story a lot, but it's just so annoying when you are made to know that they have feelings for eachother but fail to have any sort of closure. Which is why I personally find Gundam Seed to have great character development, having a clear bond between Kira and Fllay, even a sex scene, then having Fllay die towards the end of the series. It wasn't a total waste of time distraction from the story, and provided a great emotional twist for viewers, not have you constantly guessing to the point where it is just stupid.

That's my rant! Sorry for the long intro

Seriously you have a good taste of anime especially for FMP and FMA.

Try Bakemonogatari and Spice and Wolf for instance.

Same as one of my brothers + the fact that he also dislikes the "high-tone" voices (especially on repeat), just think of Rose from Dragon Crisis. + that the dub needs to be somewhat decent.

Sadly not all of those have a "good" ending. :'(
There're only 2 "large amount of episodes" anime that have gotten my interest. One is dragonball (z/gt), because nostalgia?, and the other is Fairy Tail.
It manages to keep me watching. xD

i think you have a very nice perspective on needing closure in romances in some series not to mention your taste in anime is also pretty good. If you like you should check out isekai no sekishi monogatari or Chrome shelled regios for some great action as well.
