I'm a semi-ancient geek/nerd with a full-time job and too many hobbies. I get together with a couple handfuls of friends every week to make pizza or tacos and we watch everything from Bollywood to Dr Who (old & new), anime and weird films by Matthew Barney that'd make your head explode.

My first intro to anime was watching an unsubbed VHS tape of 'Hoku To No Ken' in 1987. I was re-introduced to anime by my girlfriend about 12 years ago, though I'm more serious about it now than she is. 99% of the time I prefer subs over dubs.

What I like: Mushi-shi, Cowboy Bebop, K-ON!, Eve no Jikan, Planetes, Aria the (Animation/Natural/Origination), most films by Studio Ghibli. My surprise favorite for last season was Deadman Wonderland. My surprise favorite for THIS season is Usagi Drop. Go figure.

I tend to lurk, but I don't mind answering questions or talking about episodes. Ask away. I may not answer right away, but I will answer.
