Agreed, I always prefer Japanese audio and use the subtitles, considering VA isn't a career most in the U.S., and I figure U.K. also, desire to be. I've been wanting to find all the Dragonball Z seasons to download and relive my childhood afternoons haha, even though the voice acting for it wasn't that bad for American VA, at least that's what I remember.
Gonna see if these subs are better than the 720 version I have, it's nice when done by someone with a fairly expansive English vocab. |

Why would you remove English audio?
you prefer Japanese dub and there are others who actually prefer English dub. If the original encode of any anime is edited due to personal preferences than it would just be a pain to many. Thanks anyways... too bad I can not download it! |

A better question is why use Funimation BD's as a source if you're not interested in dual audio, since this is a confirmed upconvert on Funimation's part. Would make more sense to use an actual JDM bdmv and source English subs separately.

nx6 you be surprise how many BD are Upscales either by Funimation or Sentai or in Japan.
Funimation is known for making terrible Upscales themselves. DBZ REmasters were horrible, and Level E BD are total garbage, over saturated colors, chroma bleeding and banding everywhere. |

I just got Funi's Serial Experiments Lain BD box in the mail a few days ago, and comparing them to the encodings Coalgirls did of the JDM boxset I don't think I'm going to be surprised by anything Funimation does to screw up U.S. releases now.
They made a lot of noise about the source they got from the studio, and the original boxset had English audio. That show needed nothing more than subtitles and English menus and they could have started pressing discs. Yet, they felt the need to adjust a few things. btw, just finished Hellsing Ultimate recently on your encodes, Daman. Nice work. |
