Plot Summary

I actually live in Brazil. And well, from what I've watched from the anime, yea, part is brazillian and part is japanese / asian.
Look the name: Hana Morenos. Hana is japanese i think, while Morenos mean brown. (brown skin). The problem is that it actually look brazillian until the fiction come - but it only shows a "slice" of what Brazil is.
And don't forget. Last time we made a reserch, 50% were white, 44% brown, 5% black and only 1% asian (and this is Curitiba/Paraná here, where almost all asian people came i think), so yeah its more about fiction than reality.

Well. The anime is pretty good IMO.
