1600 x 900 really is the biggest widescreen resolution you'll need. Mines a HD 1080P 16" widescreen laptop, I wouldn't imagine you'll need it much bigger unless you're blowing it up for a TV.

but wow.. really? most standard resolution now is 1400x900?? man time flies by... coz i bought a 17'' monitor on '07..

I don't know much about desktops, but I know laptops are branchign into more widescreen varieties. I'm glad mine is, because it looks good when it's outputting to my TV
