Default Bad(s) doodle(s) and questions - 06-15-2010, 12:26 PM

Was thinking about upgrading from pen and paper to something more modern. So I did. And bought myself a tablet.

Problem now is, I don't have any photoshop skills at all. Can almost call me a PS virgin.

So I just sat down and played around with it for a while and something like this came out.

Just a simple raw sketch without anything special. I'm fully aware that it ain't proportional in any way.

Now the question is, how do I make it look better?

Are there any good tutorials?

To make clean lines is the pen tool something to go for?

Or just anything else you can think of.

most sketches will start off extremely messy at first. It just takes a lot of time and cleaning before it'll start to take shape. Some people would start off with squares or ovals to represent body parts and then just go from there. As a suggestion, look at pictures(yes, real pictures) to get an idea of what the proportions should be and then let your imagination go from there. It's not something that will come together overnight without a lot of practice. In fact you may be using the eraser tool A LOT!.
