Aegisub karaoke

Figured this thread should go here since it's an ASS problem. Dose anyone have any experience they can lend on just making a very SIMPLE karaoke effect in subtitles using Agegisub 2.1.7?? I've exhausted my limited programming experience and google is of no help. (Yes- I even used google).

have you looked at the Karaoke Templater?

It lets you define an effect template and then Aegisub will apply it to the line timings. It's included in aegisub, no extras to install

also [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] has all the ASS tags you'll ever need

actually yes- but when I apply it my sub's go away entirely (as in don't show up- not as in delete). It's either a code for an older version (they changed a few things in 2.1.7) or I am completely stupid. I also found some pre-made effects from the forum's there and they cant be done with my ASS file's... I got to be missing some crucial step.

Did you try the 2 pre-made lines posted in the tutorial?
Do those work for you when you test them?

i tried them both- and no- none of them worked no matter what i did. i used the example ASS they had- i made my own- i used ones i got from the internet. tried using the actual video's for those files- a dummy video.....

yes all my lines are committed to the proper time also. also deleted Aegisub and re-downloaded.. nothing so far has worked. *heads off the the IRC room for Aegisub...*

Take a screenshot of what you have and post it here.
It'll be easier to see what you're doing wrong that way.
Or you're doing nothing wrong and you just have a crappy pc.

i'll upload a few here in a second- step by step

HA i actually found a problem with my code I used. i had somehow switched a few properties around and the program was trying to use another form of code vrs. the one i suplied it with! anyway- false alarm- thanks you guys for insipring me to take a closer look!
