BG - Background
Blending - How well the render matches the BG
Blur - To make something hazy (opposite of sharpen)
Brushes - Used for adding effects and creating a BG
C4D - A render created in Cinema 4D used for creating effects or depth.
CnC (C&C) - Comments and Critisism
Collab (or Collaboration) - 2 or more people working together on one picture.
Compo (Composition) - How a piece of work fits together with the rest.
Concept - The main idea behind a piece of work
Contrast - The difference of brightness between dark and light colors (making darker colors darker while bright colors brighter)
Depth - Helps create an environment and add some realism to a piece of work
Depth of field (DOF) - Where a part of a render is sharper than the rest making it look as if that part is reaching out to you
Destructible Edits - Edits that change your image permanently.
FG - Foreground
Flow - The overall direction of the sig
Gradient Map - A layer in which has been duplicated and coloured using both BG & FG colours
HQ- High quality
Lighting (or lightsource) - Where the light comes from and creates shadows
LQ- Low quality
Masks - Cut out of an image, like a render but non-destructible.
Non-Destructible Edits - Edits that can easily be undone.
Opacity - How transparent something is
Pixelated - When the pixels of an image are visible to the naked eye
Render - An image with the BG cut out
Render(3d) - Final image projection of 3d artwork.
Ripping - Using someone elses work without permission
Rule of Thirds - The idea that all images can be cut in to 9 squares (helps with text placement)
Smudge - To smear or blur a picture or color.
Sprites - a two-dimensional pre-rendered figure. Those pixelated images you find in old SNES games and such. Example of some sprites:

Stock - A basic image
Tag - other word for sig (signature)
Text - No need to explain
Textures - Used for adding effects
Tone - Lightness/Darkness of a colour
Vector - A very high quality revision of an image, usually at very high resolutions
Vector(alternative) - An object that uses a vector way of projection. These objects can be scaled to an infinite scale and will not use their resolution. (Usually done in Illustrator)

Apop - Apophysis, program for creating fractals.
Avi - Avatar, small image used to identify oneself.
B/W - Black and White, grayscale image.
BG - Background, the background of a piece.
C&C - Comments and Critique, asking for comments on a piece.
C4D - Cinema 4D, program that creates 3D pieces, and is a term for any abstract render whether it was made in C4D or not; A rendered abstract object or shape; (program) Cinema 4 Dimensional; a program that creates C4Ds
Compo - Composition, how a piece is put made.
dA - deviantART, prominent website for artists; (DA) An image-hosting and community website that shares one’s art with anyone else who is obliged to view and comment on it; also an art shop
FR - Full Rights, you can use it for anything you wish, but you may not claim you made it.
FX - Effects, the techniques used in a piece; Effects; the digital effects of an image or piece of art
GFX - Graphic design, the use of digital programs to create artwork; Graphic effects; digital graphics
GIMP - a free graphics program; A free program that mirrors the abilities of Photoshop
LP - Large Piece, project that is larger than signature size; Large Piece, large art; of a grand size, bigger than a regular forum signature size
LQ - Low Quality, or blurry; Low quality; blurriness, deterioration in quality of the image
LR - Learning Rights, you may look at the PSD/Tutorial to examine the creation process, but nothing else
Manip. - Photo Manipulation, editing photographs to create completely new image
Paint - A design program, normally used for spriting
PSP - Paint Shop Pro, a design program but not nearly as effective as PS or GIMP
Photobucket - popular image hosting website; (PB) An image-hosting website that is commonly used and referred by many graphics designers
PR - Posting Rights, the right to post something for use (Like a tutorial)
PS - Photoshop, common graphics program, and most popular; A program that utilizes any type of graphics, including animated graphics
PSD - Photoshop Document, the raw format for Photoshop designs where layers are kept or saved; Photoshop Document; The file extension used for saving current or unfinished work on the program called Photoshop
SR - You have the right to wear it in your signature but nothing else.
SoTW - Signature of the Week, a popular contest on various forums; Signature of the Week; a weekly competition commonly held by many graphics and other forums to challenge the members of the forum to see who can create the best forum signature, mostly appealing-wise
Typo - Typography, the use of text in a piece.
WIP - Work In Progress, a project that is still in the making
XCF - Gimp Document, the raw format for GIMP designs where layers are kept or saved; The file extension used for saving current or unfinished work on the program called GIMP
PR - Planet Renders
Render - An image with out a background.
Stock - An image with a background; A usable image worthy of being manipulated graphics-wise; a high quality image
HQ - High Quality (has great depth; no blurry-ness, etc.); High quality; clear focal with proper depth and lighting
Focal - The main focus or attraction of an image.
.png - File format, recomended for almost anything graphic related; Recommended file extension used for recording data on a work of art or forum signature
.gif - File format used mostly for animation; A file extension used for recording data on animated graphics
.jpeg - We look down on this format. Horrible for graphics. We welcome you to throw sticks at it.
LS - also known as the light-source... or the main point of attraction in the signature in which light comess from; Light source; a source of light to focus on the depth of a focal
VFX - Visual effects
.ABR - A file extension used for recording and creating brushes used by Photoshop, GIMP, and other graphic programs
Rule of Thirds - Rules stating, mentioning, and describing the proper way to execute correct depth
Abstract - An object or piece that is of awkward and queerness, which will entice its viewers upon looking; unbound shapes and objects
Surreal - The manipulation of an object or many objects to appear as another
SDB - Sprite Data Base; a sprite-hosting website that holds over thousands of sprite images and resources
Fighter Factory - A program that may be used for ripping sprites and other rendered images
Gradient Map/Photo Filter - A utility used in graphic programs to enhance and slightly familiarize all colors that are in the applied project of art
Depth - One of the basic yet significant parts of an image that ensures the focal and its surroundings in an image stand out more; blurred parts of the background and a high quality focal area
