Default Non-english website translation? - 08-09-2010, 01:36 AM

Is there any kind of utility, software, program, or whatever that will translate a non-english website into english? I tried the "translate" icon in the google tool bar, but it was of no help whatsoever. I'm hoping for something easy to use and, of course, free.

if your trying to go from Japanese to English most online translators are gong to fail. You can try [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I find it "better" then most for translating stuff. I've played with there program and its ok but never really got into messing with it. Just something you can check out.

I always use google translate. It really didn't work for you?
Try entering the site directly through google translate.

I tried google again as well as babylon with no sucess. I'm beginning to this there might be something off with my computer, because the text doesn't even resemble Japanese. This is a paste of some of the text I see:

‚‚‚‚‚‚–ˆ“–ˆ“‹s‚‚‚‚ƒh‚l‚ƒŠƒOƒŠ‚A‚‚ I“‚”Œ‚‚ɏo‚II
ƒŠƒOƒ‹u‚II•KŽEIƒŠƒOƒ‹ƒLƒBƒBƒBƒBƒBƒBƒBƒBƒ bƒbƒbƒbƒbƒN!!!!!!v

The weird thing is that some text on the page looks Japanese and, as you can see, some of it doesn't.

If you see that then I think it is because you don't have east asian language support installed. Look for it in your OS website.
Although f you're able to see Japanese text, most probably it is because it's a picture, and not text. But if you can select it and copy it, then, there's something really really wrong with your browser, or the translation tool.

I tried the east asian lagnuage install(I do have XP), but I needed service pack 3 disc to complete it, which I don't have. I guess the search continues.....
