Default Songs to test speakers. - 08-08-2010, 04:15 AM

Hi, I just bought a new set of speakers (Z-5500) and a pair of earphones (TripleFi10) and was looking for some songs/sound tracks to test them out. I've tried google, but most of them are Bass heavy songs or hard rock/metal ect that just attempt to kill the Sub. I'm looking for something to test out clarity as well as the low end. Something other than metal and scream or opera. Preferably in FLAC or WAV or any lossless audio format as well, as MP3 just don't do them justice. Links appreciated.

I'll recommend this FLAC release of Pendulum's album Immersion:

When I got a new headset a couple of months ago (Tritton AX PRO) I was listening to this album all day; very good quality.

Drum & Bass is the best genre, I think. Try Limewax, Counterstrike or The Qemists:

I doubt youtube is going to be satisfactory quality.

Thanks for the sound tracks. A lot of bass stuff, good for my speakers, but I also want something to test clairty as well (Though B-Complex was pretty damn good). I was wondering if anyone has got Clannad - Sora Ni Hakaru or Clannad AS OP in FLAC or WAV. YouTube is nice and all, but you can hear the noise and notice the low bitrate with these speakers. Kinda like watching a SD video on a 52" 1080p screen, just doesn't do it justice.

Celine Dion can rattle the windows.

Lol yer, B-complex has its moments. I was a bass junkie a while back so i bought that sound system. Rattling windows at 1/5 capacity was crazy enough. But if you want to test clarity, though i doubt you'd need to, try something along the lines of The Opened Way - Eminence Symphony Orchestra. That should give some sort of indication how well tuned it is.
