This issue is going to be a real bloodshed if US really convinced the governments from all around the world to produce a law to counter free downloads... There is another reason for their decision, at least, that's what i think. It is because they want to stop people from downloading FREE stuff. Instead, BUY those stuff so that more money can flow in the global market. That's what I think. No offense, kay?

A lot of the people who download do it because they don't have the money to buy. Probably have their hands full with their current job, making ends meet and whatnot, or can't find a job in the recession. Many more feel very strongly that, because one's 'culture capital' is important, one shouldn't limit this to the size of one's wallet i.e. a person who can't afford to buy a CD shouldn't have to go without listening to the music, especially since art was meant for everybody to enjoy, and music is by default an artform.

I'm not saying buying is a bad thing, but it shouldn't be required by any stretch of the imagination.

What's worst is that nothing about this draft is available to the public. The people that were able to finally report on it is just because it was leaked out on the internet. There's currently only a few politicians asking to make it public here in the States.

Even more reason to be concerned. It's a good thing people by nature don't know how to keep their mouths shut (and even more actually have a backbone), otherwise this would've slipped right past us entirely.
