I tried a some podcasts in the beginning and didn't learn a damn thing. Pimsleur is way better IMO, and the 30 minute lessons are pretty easy to handle. Some of those podcasts are an hour or more long, and for some reason Pimsluer seems to stick while all the podcasts I tried were pretty much in one ear and out the other.

The best way to learn japanese is to move to japan and be immersed in the culture/language.

I went to Japan in October and it was awesome of course. I had studied quite a bit...taken a JP 1 class, even bought that rosetta stone program (which was ok) but I always seemed to forget stuff
(vocabulary, sentence structure, reading katakana/hirigana,etc)

...until I was finally in country, it all came back because I was using it every day to interact with everyone.

...of course having said all that, two months later I've forgotten half of it again.

I suggest a site tht could be useful to the ones who try to translate from Japanese (I'm NOT a translator, I casually found it): [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

it is a glossary and is amazing, it even seems to translate some words from Japanese dialects.

I tried to learn a bit Japanese but I think it really is hard if you don't have enough time. in the future I would like to attend a course, it is iportant to have a teacher who controls if you're doing a good job.

The only people you need in your life is the one they need you in theirs..So I will always be beside you until the very end wiping all your tears away ..being your best friend ..I’ll smile when you smile & feel all the pain you do & if you cry a single tear I promise I’ll cry too
