If they were so stupid they would not have been capable of gaining vast fortunes to start thier campaigns and are capable gaining so much power, politicians clearly aren't as stupid as people make them out to be..

Um no, the only thing needed of a would-be politician to gain huge amounts of campaign funds and get elected is to agree to be the toady of some major conglomerate. People don't contribute huges amounts of money to campaigns or form super PACs out of the goodness of their hearts, they do it because they have something to gain from getting that person elected. Its an investment and like any large investment they expect a sizable gain for their money.

The Occupy Wall street guys are completely right, Corperate America has completely bought off the government. Ofcourse, they succeeded at doing that a decades ago, but people are just now catching on.

They are clearly the more intelligent people of america then, gaining so much wealth and power with so little effort while so many work their asses off for much less.

Plus that only really applies to certain countries.
In the uk something like that will get you pretty much permantly barred from the house of commons.

Its more like of a "you scratch my back, Ill scratch yours" type of situation. At least that's how I see it. I mean, George W Bush became president...Bush....president....two terms...

articulate speaker =/= intelligence

I'm not defending Bush, but making assumptions of intelligence based on how a person speaks is pretty stupid. Just look at our Dear Leader as the opposite of this coin, he's articulate, smooth, and really great speech giver to be honest, yet he's proven himself to be an utter incompetent.

Also, I wouldn't bother trying to argue with that person, he/she is either a troll or just too stupid to know when he/she is beat.

Knowledge to run a country is not the sole judge of intelligence for a person..

The presidents have been able to gain great power, social standing and wealth~fact.
Their knowledge to gain such things far surpasses many people of the USA.
and the fact that these people have attained such things means that they are individually geniuses.

don't be so narrow minded to think that intelligence only accompasses acedemics..
