Default People moving to japan with no plan. - 01-22-2012, 06:03 AM

Ok so i wanted to make a lil rant about the subject. Basically it pisses me off how people who love anime and have no idear what japan is like and have no plan on what the hell there going to do there. They just think oh i love anime so i'll just move to japan when i don't know about there culture and can't speak there language apart from what they heard in animes. They think it's so easy to just go to another country, they just want be lazy fucks in another country basically. Whell guess what you can't just go to another country you know nothing about and just live there for free you need a fucking plan and you need to be serious about joining that culture.

If you'd like post your veiws on this.

Somehow I don't think this is an actual problem. It takes a lot of money just to visit another country let alone move there. It requires some sort of advanced planning to get a long term visa, assuming you're there legally. So I really don't see that many anime fans actually packing up and moving to Japan.

Ah exactly how many ppl do you know actually plan on moving to Japan without any previous knowledge of the country? Anyone here want to go that route?............Anyone?.....................Spea k up is there anyone?..........

I'm sure there are a lot of ppl who would say "hey wouldn't it be great to move to Japan" without having any real intention to do so. But never under those conditions. At least not here.

Irregardless even if there are they won't get very far. Those who wish to move to Japan need a student visa or a work visa and a 4 year degree or 10 years working experience at a job they want workers for. If you have either of those you can hardly be considered a "lazy fuck".

As long as those conditions are met I see nothing wrong with moving there and learning the culture through immersion. For most of human history immersion in a culture has been the primary tool used to learn about a new culture. Even for those who live in a given country learn to a degree through immersion in the culture.

Well.. Wishing to move to another country and actually doing it are two very different things. I understand that this may be an annoyance to some that actually know people that are otaku-gen and wish to move to Japan simply for anime/games. But as with anything in life, making choices of such magnitude requires a few things. Such as:
A well paid job. No kids. No strings. And a solid plan for making it over there!

The same could be said about moving to any other country for nature reasons, college programs (like astronomy isn't offered in my country), languages &/or culture. <3

I've nvr heard of anyone going to japan simply because of anime. People I know most always went because of a job. The company, military, or job offer had them go. Even people I know who just went on a vacation there had a much deeper interest then just anime. I can get anime where I live why would I want to move there to get the samething. Anyhow, people talk out their butt all the time. I would just ignore those comments from people. No one seriously does that.

Most people i know who have gone for jobs were conversational English teachers. However, Japan/China/South Korea all have these programs. You don't need to be a real teacher or know their language. They prefer you have a college degree of some type though. You go and talk to the students in English so they can learn conversational English not just book English.

I don't usually post on the forum but somehow I feel like I should this time

First, I have the same feeling about people bragging themselves abou how "they will do this", "this time I just give up everything and gonna follow my dream" ...
This is just fucked up emo that would never achieve everything

Second, to add to what have been said, you don't necessarily need a job. You can also move to another country for your study, and then setup there. I came to Japan 2 years ago for a maser course, and I'm now searching job there. It's really possible with a will to success

BUT moving to another country is too much of a hard time, nobody could possibly hang on that ust for something as futile as animes or games. I mean, living far away from your friends, your family... Whith nobody to cheer you up when you're down... Nobody can stand up to that for the reasons you give ^^
