It seems as though my friend has lost interest anyway, so I've put it on hold.

Yes that is the same one as I posted

Although it is more of a plugin for MediaPortal.

I tried to install media-portal but it seems it needs XP dependant files... It could be because I don't have windows media player 12 installed, but anything that uses windows media player for playing videos is generally not a good solution.
