Default help how to convert Hi-10p to 8bit - 12-27-2011, 01:53 AM

is there some sort of program out there that will convert Hi-10p to 8bit because at the moment
i cant even convert it to blu-ray.
I can play Hi-10p on my pc no problem but that defeates the puropse of using
my wd live media player on my lcd tv..
at the moment i feel like dumping out 538gb of hi-10p anime
so if anybody can help i'd be happy

10bit mkv files plays on no set top boxes which is pretty useless
well unless you are happy watching it on your pc through a dopey monitor

I have the same problem. If I can't find it with 8bit, I've been downloading the 8bit raw files off of NYAA, and ripping the subs off of the 10bit files and combining it on a program called MKV Tools. But I'm using an IMac. I don't know if they have it for Windows. I burn all my anime to DVD's.

As as I know Handbrake doesnt work with 10bit? When I encode 10bit to 8bit for whatever reason, I use the basic x264 with bat file. Commie have explained how it works [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and its very easy.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to download the files Commie says you need, save you getting x264 yourself.

Who still uses computer monitors these days? The real solution here is to hook up your PC to an HDtv, get a wireless mouse and keyboard, then sit back and enjoy surfing the web, watching anime, and tv all from your favorite couch/recliner.

Well nokou doesnt want to waste the Live Media Player thing. The moment I got my HDTV I dumped my external media player, and got a HDMI. Then again, for some it isn't as simple for many reasons :/

as mtwini09 says i dont want to waist something that cost me £90 around $140, i could hook up my pc to the hdmi of the tv, but that means bringing up the pc to my bedroom every time i want to watch anime, Thus defeating the purpose of having the wd Live Media Player... thanks for the reply

combined community codec pack has media player classic that plays hi-10p, the same codec's work with VLC, WMP10 and any other players...
thanks for the suggestion
