Default Question about canceled series - 12-09-2011, 02:44 AM

When you haven't seen a new episode for a while for a series that was followed closely by AT (or any other time when you might suspect a heavy legal hand got the series pulled), what procedure should one follow to verify or to get further info on the event?

I appreciate that innocently asking in the forum will just get a moderator to scream at you (and the troll monkeys to scream at you too).

I have tried several google searches on the series name with the words 'fansub' or 'cancel' or 'legal' or 'ban' or... I don't remember all the searches I tried. Anyhow, I did not turn up any helpful info.

So that's the question: what procedure do I follow to become one who is 'in the know' about what happened (if something happened)?

"There were 3 sisters, and, a man might ride for days and never set eyes upon such maidens. Marie, tall and grave, and Blanche, petite and gay, and the dark Agnes, eyes that went through you like a waxed arrow. I stayed there as long as four days, and was betrothed to them all; for it seemed shame to set one above her sisters, and might make ill blood in the family. Yet, for all my care, things were not merry in the house, and I thought it well to come away."

Look alcaray, it's a matter of being updated constantly on animenews, just like a newspaper, let me tell you if you love a series then you would contantly be looking for info about it on news and more news, look for animenewsnetwork on google(GOOD START), there's info every day about anime series, the manga and mangaka(author),dvd and blu ray releases and next Miku concert lol, like Horizon in the middle of nowhere already had a second season even before the first was aired, those kind of news are updated on the webpage, and if there's a series that was pulled you would likely see: Horizon has been licensed by c....... or n..n.. or f....., this will give you the general idea that AT will also DMCA it to evade legal action. In my case i have been constantly waiting for a 4rth season of Full Metal Panic and every time i see a FMP post i scream waiting to get the news of a new anime series, or when i heard about MM! autor that comited suicide, i was bummed because i loved MM! which aired fall 2010.

I will not be specific for the reasons I mentioned above. When the mods scour their site and try to remove all references to something they are being threatened about, then they do not like people bringing it up.

Nyaa does not have the right kind of site to answer my question. Maybe you did not understand.

alfredonm, I think you are a bigger fan than I am. I just want a way of looking things up.

Hmmm, do you mean AnimeNews.biz? I've never been to that site before and it did not appear in my searches. It looks interesting. But it did not have any helpful info that I could find.

You gave me the good idea to use 'DMCA' in my search, and something I found implies that it might have been "took down" from another site. Still can't find any news or discussion about it, though.

Anyhow, thanks!

hum... If I were you, I'll just go straight to the subber's website and see what they have to say about it. Most of the time they'll have a post saying they stopped subbing it or it's on haitus, or they're still subbing it.

... simple, right? Xp

Just cause the show ain't here doesn't mean its gone. Visit the fansub groups site to see they're progress on the show.

Same, I just go to the fansubbers site for the info on what's up with it. One of my favorite shows isn't even hosted on here anymore, being the Majikoi show. Sure the entire show is pure popcorn anime, but damn it I like me a good popcorn show sometime

Dunno why it's not on here, nor does it really matter in the long run. I simply go to their site for the downloads and my anime fix is taken care of for that one particular show.

Oh and same here about FMP man... I'm dying for a season 4 so bad you have no idea

Were the LN's finished all already? Or is the manga done as well? Havn't been all caught up with it lately since news on that has been pretty scarce as of late so I've been out of the loop for a while now O_o

Anyone know?

There's not really much you can be told. Majority of shows are licensed these days, by either Crunchyroll or Funimation. They will occassionally send DMCA letters, in which case we have to pull the show(s) off the site. That's about it.
